It was where I live before, emptied of all my art junk and whitewashed for a sales photo! It is hard for me to be minimalist when I am a maximalist at heart.
I took a ‘City & Guilds’ course about three years ago. Most of my life I was a graphic designer and really enjoyed it until I was on the computer all the time. I realised I missed cutting up paper and sticking things – it really helped with my recovery.
I, too, love the feel of paper and the thought that something so delicate could come from a tree. There’s almost a mystical quality about it. What a fascinating art to do book binding! You’re full of surprises 🙂
I like your take on this!

Loved seeing the photos of your book binding. I thought they were some sort of blinds at first!

I must admit I haven’t done any for quite some time now. How are your art projects coming along?

How long have you been doing book binding? And, what lead you to take up that pursuit?
The Three Graces … I love the one by Canova, he was a brilliant artist.

Some purely fine examples.

Lovely photos, as usual. I’m particularly struck by the ancient vest. It looks fresh and modern enough to have been designed as a dress last week.

I had no idea that mounds for breasts were knitted in. Proves to me that the crafter was a woman
