Hi the words you have wrote here resonate deeply with me as my aunty is currently undergoing chemotherapy for stage 4 oesophagus cancer . Im sure this post will be inspirational for her tyvm .
I really wish her well. Please listen to anything she has to say. I had stage 4 Hodgkins Lymphoma. I gave everything away and planned my funeral. Then went into complete shock when I was told I was Cancer-free. My main worry was my 14 year old daughter at the time. Please send your Aunty my love.

I live near Wimbledon in South London. I was born and brought up in Woolston. My mother and father still live in Woolston. They are in their 90s. I often drive down to visit them. I have some old aunts who live in Swift Road.
Yes, it’s changed a lot. My grandfather was a foreman in Thorneycrofts. Do you remember the shipyard?
Last year the Coop closed. My Mum and Dad were always getting something there. They have to rely on my youngest brother,who lives in Hedge End,to get their shopping now. Luckily they both still have their health but they are getting very fragile.
Poor old Vospers – I knew so many that worked there. There is a lovely video of the ship builders online somewhere – I should post it some time. I believe there is going to be a big supermarket under the new block of flats on the waterfront.

Southampton was flattened during WWII bombings, so apart from a few strongly-built medieval town walls and buildings. It is all new which doesn’t make a good stay for sight-seeing. It is an important commercial port city. Many cruise ships dock here which makes it a pleasant few hours walk – there are some good museums and ancient pubs, but apart from that it is more famous for it’s music and nightlife full of students. When cruise passengers dock they mainly head for Portsmouth Historical Dockyard, Winchester Cathedral, Stonehenge or London. Happy to be your personal guide if you ever visit.

I’m glad that you have a wonderful outlet such as your blog and that you are a survivor! Just days ago I wrote a post titled cancer, I hate you. It is too close to so many people I know and love but this is encouraging!
Thank you Minister Mom – I read your post and tell you that it is okay to hate Cancer – it is not a human being – you do not need to be forgiven. I volunteer for Cancer Research and each week there are new discoveries – and Cancers are being conquered. There is hope – I am one of the fortunate ones.
Lots of controversy about the cruise ships in harbor, as I understand it from some of the newspapers … they are huge. I used to travel from Southampton to France on my way down to Spain … years ago … those were the days …
So you’ve been to my home city? Yes the shipping industry is going through a competitive build as big as you can race! Though bigger is not always better and they should take heed of the many ships that have sunk for these sort of races before.
I also wanted to let you know my blog will probably be back, I was burned out and I have other things going on that I want to concentrate on. It was a tough decision and something had to give. I still own the domain name asweetdoseofreality.com and I also backed my blog up before I deleted it. All I have to do is create a new one and import everything and everything will be back in place, sans the followers, but that’ll build up again.
Yeah, I was posting pretty much every single day since May 2015. I took a week off several months ago and then I started to skip Sundays. I needed a substantial break.
